Reflections

Dive leading this weekend seems to be the most challenging one i encounter so far out of the 3 trips i went as a dive master... What Perry said was right... we have very demanding customers... all the customers seems to be very experience divers.. as a new dive master is quite a challenge... plus the weather conditions makes it even harder... plus this is a large group.... as a result there is some hiccups... but through it all... i learn many lesson as a dive master... which such experience which is kind of bad but helps me to be a better dive professional... after much thoughts... feedback from others and perry... i guess i gotta improve on my command and control, slowing down in dive leading... check more often my divers... deployment of divers.... and not to fight currents unnecessary... and to be more firm... sometimes is not gd to be a mr nice guy 100% of the time... sometimes gotta be real firm to makes things better... like what perry said... is better to piss off the customer on the boat than in the water... which things can turn even more nasty... writing this blog is kind of remind myself and let such lesson imprint in myself deeply so i will improve.... anyway project AWARE weekend was successful... we clear the crown of thorns, coral watching and clear some rubbish.... at the end of the day the customers are rather satisfied which make me feel kind of eased... managed to spot the rare decorator crab... crab spawning... great barracudas... Morays... cuttlefish.... Blue Spotted Sting rays... and more marine life... now i am thinking whether i should dive lead this weekend as exams are approaching and i am quite tired.... hmmm....
