Appreciation and Recent Updates

Finally i received my PADI DM no. and now a member of PADI... looking at it i felt is a achievement after 5 yrs of passion in Diving... as i step into the Diving Industry i guess i got much more to learn... but along this 5 years... these are the ppl who shaped me into a dive professional in terms of many areas like skills, perception, knowledge, judgement and ethics even as a normal diver.

1) Hazel ( www.divewerkz.com )- Who took my Openwater Diver course. I am one of the ppl who cannot equalise by blowing into my nose... i use jaw wriggle method which commercial divers use. She beleived in me and i managed to equalise and became a certified open water diver. She also share with me a lot about the fun, interesting and extra tip about being a gd diver.

2) Jochen ( www.divewerkz.com ) - Who took my Advanced Openwater Diver course. His humour and love of diving as further inspire me as an advanced diver. Someone who is approachable and willing. I really learn a lot from him too. Is great to have him on a dive trip

3) Patrick ( www.seaventuresdive.com ) - Who is my Divemaster when i went to Sipadan. I dun know whether he is still working as a Divemaster at Seaventures Dive rig at Mahbul. But my week of diving with him i really learn a lot of him. He is a great company during my trip when i went alone to Sipadan to dive. Really enjoyed the things we chat as he studied in Singapore before as he was a Malaysian. He is the one who share a lot of dive knowledge with me and show me almost everything i can expect in Sipadan, Kapalai and Mahbul. He is also the main person other than my course instructors, who teach me proper bouyancy and finning tecchiques which i can dive well in the water and not kick up sand. He also teach me abt the safety side as he always believe Safety first fun next.

4) Chris ( www.simplyscuba.com.sg ) - Who took my Rescue Diver Course. He is someone who teach me a lot of extra things about diving and life. I learn a lot from him while talking on the boat. I will never forget the advice he gave like a gd divemaster is able to take care of his divers... bring 4 down must bring 4 up.... and more... ppl skills he also taught me and helped me.... i wanted to take the PADI divemaster course under him but it is cost dat make the biggest hurdle but he is a mentor i would glad to have in my life in the diving industry.

5) Jacki ( www.gilldivers.com ) - Who took my Emergency First Responder Course. His Humour and Seriousness at the same time make me convinced dat a dive professional can be fun yet serious at the same time. He taught me a lot of dive related first aid and even the use of emergency Oxygen which is one the crucial skill a divemaster must know during a event of emergency which i used it to help other diveshop casualty in a non diving incident.

6) Kevin - Who is my boss for my commercial Diving job in Sentosa. He is a divemaster and he share with me a lot about diving during work. Is great to have him as a boss and i enjoy working under him. He is one person who inspires me to be a Divemaster.

7) Zhichao - Ex NUS Dive Club Chairperson. He is someone who i pace myself after as a PADI divemaster. The way he lead and take care of divers is someone i look upoon as one of my Role Model. Although i dun know him well but every dive try i observe him and learn from him. He is someone Chris also reccomended me to look upoon for a role model.

8) Keryn & Jerry - Ex NUS Dive Club Chairperson and Dive Club member respectively whom i learn ettique about phototaking which i appreciate a lot as they honestly tell me the don'ts in underwater photography.

9) Joshua ( www.thesubmersibles.com ) - Who is a Divemaster for my Divecamp 2008 from submersibles. He share with me a lot about life and diving stuff. I also learn from him how to be a gd divemaster too.

10) Lester ( www.orpheusdive.com )- Who is a Master Instructor and owner of Orpheusdive. Why do i took my divemaster course with Orpheus? Price is one of the factor as a student but dats not the main component. I took up my divemaster course because the professionalism, passion and family spirit i found in Orpheus. Lester is someone i first talked to i realised wah this guy knows his stuff and he is willing to share. The culture is also one factor which i find myself comfortable to be in and the 2 dogs in the shop also one of the factor haha! i love jack russells :p anyway. I learn a lot from Lester during my PADI divemaster course. Although sometimes he can be quite "fierce" but i know sometimes have to be serious and i appreciate him as my mentor in Diving. Guess in future i have lots to learn from him. Really pei fu him on how he bring up Orpheus till today. He is one of the main attribute of making me as a dive professional

11) Perry ( www.orpheusdive.com ) - Who is an instrucor in Orpheus i learn a lot from being a dive professional. From theory class to Pool to Openwater trips. He shared with me a lot. He even teach me things outside the textbooks which can attribute to a gd dive professional. He is approachable and friendly but he can be serious at times. He is also one of the main attribute of making me as a dive professional. Last but not least he is a mentor i have in my diving passion.

12) Geof, Wen Seang, Selena, Peimin, Suresh ( www.orpheusdive.com ) - Instructors of Orpheus who is a team of instructors, together with Lester and Perry, who teach me and guide me to who am i today as a dive professional during my Divemaster course. They certainly has teach me a lot of stuff about diving, being a dive professional and operations of a dive trip. Really enjoyed the company of them and the help they rendered to me during my course and in the future.

13) Orpheusdive Crew ( www.orpheusdive.com ) - William, Rosa, Antonio, Augustine, Christian. Hahah i am trying to remember everyone's name :P. Thanks for the help rendered during my course.

14) Leonard ( www.orpheusdive.com ) - My fellow OJT buddy. We went through a lot during our OJT. But all the mistakes we learn from it and the return trip was gd, except of some hiccups beyond our control but in the end we did a gd job. Wanna thank him on the help and things dat he has done, the things he shared and someone i can trust. Hope to lead dive with u more!

15) All my dive Khakis ( I try to name them all ) - Euming, Amanda, Charissa, Dara, Sarah, Beng Han, Norman, Isaac, Glenda, Lucas, Boon Kiat, Yuen Yi, Dexiang, Lining, Bernie, Johnson wah really too many! hahaha.. u know who u are! thanks for the dive trips i have u all. Really thank the above ppl as they make a difference in my path to be a Dive professional.

Another Week of Madness

Yes... as the title suggest is another week of madness... Tutorial Assignment Deadline... and trying to catch up with my macro 2... my GEK presentation which i can't really touch it until after my mid term on 28th Sep... i really hope i can do everything well and get over this hell period... which somehow temporary end on 10th October... which i can take a 2 week break first and chiong again for the reamaining 1 project and 1 Term test for the GEK module... recently kind of blessed i can find company to have meals like today and yst managed to catch Wall E... ssuch a sweet animation... and also cute.... although Wall E is cute.. i think his pet cockroach, Hal, is even more cute! hahaha.. so guai somemore...

Hal rox man!~

Anyway i got hold of the F1 Grandstand Tickets for Sunday Race... wheeee! hahaha will be sitting at Turn 3 which is near the start off point which is first series of turn... wonder how the engine roar when u are at the place live!... anyway going to Dayang for my first official DM duty eversince i passed my DM course 2 weeks ago... hope this trip will be a smooth and fruitful trip! going to lead 4 leisure divers!

Before i end off... got a question in my head.... which i find quite interesting... will u go for someone who can love you romantically but practically not very well... and vice versa... who will you go for in terms for a long term relationship till marriage... and i somehow i made an interesting discovery dat Women love men more towards the emotional side... and Men love the women towards the functional side... do you agree with me? LOL think about this.... A woman can still love a man at the end of the day even if he is doing soemthing wrong to her... and a man no longer like a woman cos the woman is unable to met his expectations.... hahaha sound true right?

- Load the bags into the assigned boat and do bag count. Customers to load into the boat and head count.
- Move out to the boat and brief them what is going to happen when we reach the island.
- Arrival. Check whether need to move bags or leave the bags in the boat and do bag count for the bags on the boat. Customer head to the resort and collect resorts keys and do room allocation and time to wake up, breakfast and meet at the dive boat.
- Assist Open Water Students and lead leisure dive (Depending on the nature of the job for the particular trip).

- Talk to Boss and Home Sweet Home.

Yes after 2 days of work... my body is aching like mad and i am sleepy as i reach home late... think in future i would avoid monday lectures liaoz... was very surpirsed that after my first OJT.. my Divemaster application is going to be sent up to PADI which means i might be certified as a DM real soon. Was very happy that the instructor gave very gd feedbacks during the trip... i learn a lot from them... would like to Thank Wen Seang, Suresh and Selena for their guidance as i learn a lot from them and i was very surprised that they have gd impression of me and Leo overall although there are some hiccups along the way. But now if i am going to be certified soon the next challenge is to perform the duty of a DM professionally which i am not very confident about it as i am still very green...

Personality Test

I find the test below tend to be quite true about me but the last part seem dat i need to find someone who is willing

You are a BUILDER / explorer

E
-Explorer - 27%
N
-Negotiator - 20%
B
-Builder - 28%
D
-Director - 25%

You are popular, trustworthy and dependable. People like you for many reasons; but among them you tend to be stable, loyal and caring and you have a wonderful knack for common sense.

You are a guardian. Your relationships with friends, kin and colleagues are important to you. So you spend time and energy developing and defending these social networks.

You are a good executive and manager. People almost instinctively feel you can supervise financial, business and social issues effectively. And because you are sensible and factual, you can.

You work hard. You like schedules. You are detail oriented. And you tend to respect traditions. So you bring strength and stability to your social and business environments.

Yet you admire people who are spontaneous and you enjoy new and different ideas and experiences, as long as they are not dangerous. Respectability and appropriateness are important to you. And you are capable of deep, solid friendships.
